Shop Manic Verse

Manic Verse

Manic Verse. A compilation of verse, prose and songs by David Hamilton. While much of the poetry contained within these pages takes a light hearted poke at "the establishment" such as in 'Tradition Lost', 'Green Condoms' and 'My Car Runs on Corn Oil', to name but three, readers should not make the mistake of thinking this is a frivolous book. The author also has a dark side and takes a perceptive look at the world and its workings with a sometimes cynical, but always 'dry' eye. There is something for everyone in this book, humour, sadness, anger, jealousy and torment, with more than a sprinkling of erotica. In many ways the book is a diary of the author's life, giving the reader a "through the key-hole" glance into his working class childhood and his long military career. At the time of going to print, the author remains a serving officer in the British Army. Whatever your taste in poetry there is something here for you. There are sonnets and villanelles aplenty scattered amongst the free verse, prose, songs and doggerel. There is something to make you laugh, cry or question on every page. While there are a number of poems which would be suitable bed time reading for children, the book is unsuitable for children under 16 years of age as it contains some explicit sexual content.

Cheap Management of Common Health Problems of Drug Users

Management of Common Health Problems of Drug Users

Primary health care for drug users aims to promote health by providing a comprehensive harm-reduction package including outreach; peer-led interventions; information, education and communication; condoms; sterile injection equipment; and effective drug treatment including opioid substitution therapy. It also aims to reduce morbidity and mortality among all drug users by early identification and treatment of infections and other drug use-related illnesses; and provide care, treatment and support for HIV-infected drug users. These clinical guidelines are intended for use by doctors, nurses and other health-care workers who work in community outreach, drop-in centers, community clinics, drug treatment centres, prison clinics, and primary- and secondary-level hospitals. They offer guidance on the provision of primary health care to drug users and focus on the clinical management of common medical problems associated with drug use, in particular, injecting drug use in the presence or absence of HIV infection.

Lila's House: Male Prostitution in Latin America presents insight into male prostitution in a truly global array of Latin American countries. This study focuses on a very specific sexual culture within the realm of male prostitution: the young men of a lower/middle-class brothel catering to a broad range of clients. You will explore the culture of juvenile prostitution and learn from the immediate intervention program that was implemented. Twenty-five young men between the ages of 13 and 27 were interviewed for this study. They share with you their views on: sexual initiationsexual definitionsexual orientationlovedrug useprostitutionfamily relationshipsrelationships with men and women The young men interviewed for this study are in serious danger of being exposed to the AIDS virus and of becoming addicted, if they are not already, to cocaine, crack, or alcohol. Those conducting the study initiated a campaign to supply condoms and raise the young men's awareness about AIDS and drugs and began an immediate support program. The project resulted in the establishment, in June 1997, of an alternative home for juvenile prostitutes, which offers various opportunities for education and work.

I Will NOT Go the F*k to Sleep

By a widely published author and father of 3 children, 8 books, and 1 kicking and screaming Inner Child that refuses to grow up or to go to sleep, this book imagines: -What if a child, asked to go the f*k to sleep by its father, could respond in adult language? -A band of 5000 yogis flown in from India specifically to balance India's budget deficit by spilling coffee on their laps at 5,000 McDonald's restaurants. -A Nuclear Weapons fire sale to help balance America's deficit -What would Christ say to the Reagan-Bush economists at the Last Judgment? -What does it feel like to send your pet cat to a cat home or cat shelter, or to return a long-dead ex-chicken to an American supermarket? -The story of an Indian men's magazine which ran a special Sex Issue, with condoms glued to the inside of the magazine for readers who might be too carnally provoked to search for a condom. This 30,000-word book of humorous essays and of political, social, and intercultural satire is the author's ninth book. Kurt Vonnegut called his first novel, "The Revised Kama Sutra," "very funny." It is not a book for children, but for adults who love absurd, satirical, and sometimes sexy humor. Among other things, it pokes fun at outsourcing and at familiar stereotypes about Indians and Americans, besides providing a revised, post-p.c. version of Genesis. As one magazine's review of "The Revised Kama Sutra" said, "No sacred cows whatsoever." The e-book edition was the Number 2 bestseller for 5 weeks on the Kindle Political Humor list.
